Two teens arrested in after-school fight that began on Natomas High campus

Two teenagers were arrested Tuesday afternoon following a fight that began on the Natomas High School campus, then continued in a nearby shopping center.

Sacramento police officers responded shortly before 3 p.m. to the 3300 block of Fong Ranch Road to assist school resource officers, according to the Police Department’s activity log.

A large fight reportedly began after school in the school cafeteria, then spilled out into a nearby shopping center parking lot. Multiple police units were called to the scene.

Officer Eddie Macaulay, a Police Department spokesman, said two boys, ages 17 and 13, were taken into custody, accused of resisting arrest and assault.

One student suffered minor injuries during the fight.

Macaulay said no information was available on what prompted the fight or how many students were involved.
