Rancho Cordova man dies in crash

A Rancho Cordova man died when his car crashed at a Sacramento intersection Sunday night.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the motorist as 22-year-old Steven Charles Watts.

Sacramento police said Watts was traveling eastbound about 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Elder Creek Road at a high rate of speed when his car struck another vehicle at Florin Perkins Road. The vehicle struck by Watts then struck a third vehicle.

Sacramento police said that Watts was ejected from his car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other two cars suffered non life-threatening injuries.
