A standoff between police and a man allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident at a Meadowview home ended about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after SWAT officers fired tear gas into the home.
Sacramento police responded to the home near 63rd Avenue and 21st Street at 6:46 p.m. after receiving a report of gunshots in connection with a domestic violence incident, said police spokesman Sgt. Doug Morse. He said only one person, a man, was believed to be in the house. Morse said the other person thought to be involved was reported safe and with police.
The man came to the door several times during the standoff, but did not comply with officers orders to come out of the house, leading them to fire tear gas.
The man, described as in his 30s, was taken into custody and Morse said officers were entering the residence to make sure no one else was in the home.
