Sacramento woman missing in Placer County, car found in Auburn

At least 60 people are searching for Sacramento resident Yin Wong, 33, whose abandoned car was found in Auburn on Sunday morning.

Wong is five feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office. She was last seen in a striped blue top and a skirt, and was described as having a “stocky build, medium complexion and a protruding belly” in a department Facebook post.

A caller reported seeing a person matching Wong’s description at New Airport Road and Highway 49 around 11:20 a.m. Sunday. Her car was found near Bowman Road.

Motorcycle, K9 and 4x4 teams, as well as hikers and a helicopter unit, are searching surrounding area and American River canyon for Wong. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Placer County Sheriff's Office at (530) 889-7800.
