A man shot outside a home in north Sacramento early Monday morning retreated inside for help before he was eventually pronounced dead by arriving medical personnel.
At about 12:30 a.m. Monday, Sacramento police said they were called regarding shots fired in the Strawberry Manor neighborhood. Police then received a call from a family in a home on 200 block of Cookingham Way, saying that a relative, who had been shot outside, had entered the house with a gunshot wound.
Officers and Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel arrived. The man was pronounced dead in the home.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. There are no witnesses to the shooting or any arrests, according to police.
