The Davis Police Department reported that 41 people were arrested during this year’s UC Davis Picnic Day.

The arrests, which occurred between 4 p.m. Friday and 3:20 a.m. Sunday, were down slightly from the 44 arrests by city police in 2014.

Police also issued 42 citations, including 12 in the safety enhancement zone, the downtown area directly surrounding the campus where fines are doubled for alcohol, noise, public urination and smoking offenses.

The department reported 502 calls for police services and 52 fire calls.

Police noted that these are preliminary numbers and do not include enforcement activity taken by agencies that assisted the Davis Police Department.
