Crime Q&A: What’s the status of Chico couple charged with trafficking methamphetamine?

Q: Can you help me find out more information on the case of Curtis Dale Sawyer and Ann Marie Vance of Chico, who were indicted by a federal grand jury in December on methamphetamine trafficking charges? For instance, where are the individuals jailed and where will court be?

Shipley, Sacramento

A: Curtis Dale Sawyer, 52, and Ann Marie Vance, 49, both of Chico, have been charged in U.S. District Court in Sacramento with conspiring to possess and possessing methamphetamine for distribution, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release. Vance is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

Both have pleaded not guilty and their next court date is Feb. 6, for a status conference, according to federal court records available online.

The records show that Sawyer was released on a $50,000 bond so he could be placed in a drug treatment program.

Vance remains in custody and currently is being held without bail in the Nevada County Jail, according to a roster of county jail inmates.
