One person died Sunday night after being shot on the 3500 block of 44th Street in Oak Park.
Officers responded to calls of gunfire at 8:51 p.m., Sacramento police spokesman Vance Chandler said, and immediately began administering CPR to an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. The Sacramento Fire Department showed up at 9 p.m. and pronounced the victim dead.
Homicide detectives remained in the surrounding residential neighborhood collecting evidence and seeking witnesses throughout the night, Chandler said. They had not identified a motive or suspect as of Monday morning. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
