Sheriff's spokesman details armed home invasion in south Sacramento
Card players in a south Sacramento garage found themselves handing over cash at gunpoint early Monday.
A woman called 911 at around 1:20 a.m. Monday reporting armed men in the garage at her home on the 3700 block of 42nd Avenue, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release.
The men demanded money and other items from people playing cards and possibly gambling in the garage, the woman said. She was watching the robbery take place from another part of the home via a video surveillance system.
At least four robbers fled on foot after sheriff’s deputies arrived, two of whom were caught following a search of the area. One gun was also recovered. The arrested suspects’ names are not being disclosed as the investigation into their alleged co-conspirators continues, Sgt. Shaun Hampton said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-HELP. Tips may also be left anonymously at www.sacsheriff.com or by calling 916-874-TIPS (8477).
