A 21-year-old Marysville man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the Yuba County community of Linda.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about 4:45 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 5900 block of Lowe Avenue. The caller said he was the shooting victim and believed he had been hit by a bullet that penetrated his vehicle while he was parked on Lowe Avenue, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The victim told dispatchers that he crashed his vehicle as he was driving himself to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville and was picked up by a passing motorist, who was taking him to the emergency room.
The victim, a 24-year-old Oroville man, suffered a superficial grazing wound and was treated at the hospital and released, the news release said.
Detectives learned that the victim had been in an argument with a man he knew when the man fired one round from a revolver at the victim’s vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The suspect, identified as James Elijah Myles, was arrested just before 6 p.m. in the 800 block of E Street in Marysville.
In addition to attempted murder, Myles was booked into Yuba County Jail on suspicion of having a concealed firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to the release.
