Watch Placer County crews scour hill for evidence after human remains found
A search and rescue team on Sunday scoured an area where human remains were found, but did not discover any new evidence, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
Hikers found the skeletal remains of a human body Saturday along Foresthill Road between Upper and Lower Lake Clementine roads, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Authorities said the skeletal remains were discovered away from the roadway in an area thick with underbrush.
The condition of the remains suggests they had been there for a long time, said Lt. Andrew Scott. He said the office is not aware of any people who had recently gone missing in the area.
A search and rescue team searched the area Sunday morning, Scott said.
The investigation is ongoing.
