A Rancho Murieta man died when his motorcycle left a country road and hit a barbed wire fence Sunday south of Folsom, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Scott Road, south of Boys Ranch Road, when for reasons not known to officers his 2000 Harley-Davidson went off the pavement. The right side of his motorcycle struck a cattle fence, ejecting the 60-year-old man from his vehicle.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel arrived to render aid. However, the motorcyclist, who suffered head trauma, was pronounced dead at the scene.
