Man arrested after string of armed robberies in midtown Sacramento
The Sacramento Police Department announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man suspected in a series of armed robberies in midtown Sacramento.
The agency withheld the suspect’s name and mugshot on Tuesday, saying detectives were still investigating the case.
The most recent armed robbery was reported just before 8 p.m. Friday at a business on 17th and T streets. The suspect’s photograph, captured on a store surveillance system, was shared by the department on several social media platforms, including Facebook and Nextdoor.
Two other similar incidents were reported to the Police Department in the past three weeks, said Sgt. Vance Chandler. One happened just before 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16, in which a man armed with a gun stole property from a store in the 2100 block of 16th Street. In another incident six days earlier, a suspect did the same at a business a block away.
“In all cases, the suspect was wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black high-top shoes,” the department said in a news release.
