Two cars flip over in crash on Broadway
Two cars flipped over Thursday morning after during a crash in which one motorist ran a red light crossing the intersection of Fifth Street and Broadway, according to Sacramento Police.
A Toyota Corolla and a GMC Envoy collided about 7:30 a.m., according to a Sacramento Police Department spokesman. The Envoy driver was transporting four children, all of whom crawled out of the SUV, while the Corolla driver Irma Nolasco Landaverde was the vehicle’s lone occupant.
Police didn’t know which car had run the red light, but Nolasco Landaverde said through an interpreter she had been having problems with her brakes before the crash. Nolasco Landaverde complained of back pain and said she planned to visit an area hospital. No one in the Envoy was injured, police said.
The scene had been cleared as of 8:30 a.m.
