A teen shot outside a home more than a week ago in north Sacramento has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
After the notifying of relatives, coroner’s deputies were able to list the man on the office website. The homicide victim is Lamar McCants, 18, of Sacramento.
Sacramento police said they were called regarding shots fired in the Strawberry Manor neighborhood around 12:30 a.m. April 20. Police then received a call from a family in a home on 200 block of Cookingham Way, saying that their relative, McCants, who had been shot outside, had entered the house with a gunshot wound.
Officers and Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel arrived. McCants was pronounced dead in the home at 12:53 a.m.
