Sacramento police investigated 39 homicides last year, down slightly from the previous two years, new crime data show.
Central Oak Park and Del Paso Heights were the neighborhoods with the highest concentration of homicides. In addition, a rare quadruple homicide occurred in South Land Park.
Homicides peaked in Sacramento during the late 1980s and early 1990s then generally declined over the following two decades.
