Davis police seek identity of suspect in attempted convenience store robbery

Davis police seek the public’s help in identifying a man suspected in the attempted robbery of a convenience store early Wednesday.

A man walked into the Circle K store at 1930 Lake Boulevard about 2:39 a.m. and attempted to rob the cashier using a handgun, according to a Police Department news release. The man demanded cash, but fled when the clerk was unable to open the register.

Police said the man was last seen running south on Lake Boulevard.

The man, shown in a surveillance photo, is described as black, about 21 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and red tennis shoes.
