The alleged robber was wearing a gorilla mask and the victim has not been identified.

In an unusual case, Citrus Heights police say detectives recently found digital evidence of a strong-arm robbery that may have occurred about 1:54 p.m. April 20. The digital evidence shows a victim confronted by an individual wearing a gorilla mask, who robs the victim of his bicycle. Video and still images indicate a number of people were present during the robbery, according to a Police Department news release.

Neither the Citrus Heights Police Department nor surrounding agencies have received reports of such an incident. Detectives are asking the community’s help in finding the victim of the apparent bicycle robbery. They also seek to identify the suspect or suspects, and anyone else who may have been victimized by an someone wearing a gorilla mask.

Detectives believe the masked individual and others may be responsible for additional robberies in Citrus Heights and surrounding areas. The suspect seen in the images is described as a white male adult, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and a gorilla mask during the robbery.
