Man wounded Thursday in south Sacramento shooting; police search for suspect
Police continued searching Thursday for a man suspected in a south Sacramento shooting that left one person injured.
Just before 10 a.m., a vehicle carrying three people was struck by gunfire multiple times near the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Armadale Way.
“The gunfire came from a subject on foot,” said Sgt. Doug Morse, a Sacramento police spokesman.
The car occupants fled, Morse said. When officers arrived, they found one gunshot victim, who had injuries to his lower back that weren’t life-threatening. Police Thursday were looking for the other car occupants.
Police described the suspect as an adult who was wearing a black sweatshirt with red-colored writing.
The incident resulted in a brief lockdown at nearby Samuel Jackman Middle School.
