Little girl’s death in Sacramento undetermined pending coroner’s autopsy

Sacramento police said Wednesday the cause of death for a 3-year-old girl in the Parkway neighborhood is undetermined pending a coroner’s autopsy.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of Mack Road at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at the request of Sacramento Fire Department personnel. A family member at the home had called 911 to report a need for emergency medical aid.

The child, who was pronounced dead at the scene, showed no physical signs of trauma, according to a police spokesman. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were summoned to determine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

Investigators have spoken with witnesses and family members. The cause of death is pending the completion of a Sacramento County Coroner’s Office investigation.
