Four people, including two teenagers, have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that left a bicyclist dead in the Yuba County community of Olivehurst on Thursday evening.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about 6:44 p.m. reporting a drive-by shooting in the 1800 block of Sixth Avenue. The caller said a bicyclist had been shot and was lying in the street, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies found the victim, a 23-year-old Olivehurst man. CPR was initiated and the victim was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, where he was pronounce dead, the news release said. His name has not been released.
Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle suspected of being involved in the shooting and its occupants.

A short time later, a Marysville police officer spotted a car matching the description and attempted a traffic stop. The driver led police on a short pursuit before stopping on North Levee Road in Marysville, where the driver and three passengers were detained. They were subsequently arrested in connection with the shooting.
Christopher Garcia, 23, of Yuba City and Alex Ruiz, 18, of Marysville were booked into Yuba County Jail, on suspicion of murder and gang-related offenses. The other two suspects, a 16-year-old boy from Marysville and 17-year-old boy from Olivehurst, were booked into Juvenile Hall.
The shooting remains under investigation.
