A woman was killed and a teenage boy was injured in a head-on collision Thursday night on Highway 20, northeast of Marysville.
The 37-year-old woman from Smartsville was driving a 2013 Honda eastbound on Highway 20, east of Walnut Avenue, at a high speed, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. The Honda entered the westbound lanes, crossing double yellow lines, and began passing traffic. The driver failed to move back into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 1999 Dodge driven by a 17-year-old boy from Yuba City.
The Honda came to rest on its wheels facing north, and the Dodge came to rest on the driver's side, facing north, the news release said.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. Her name has not been released pending notification of family.

The driver of the Dodge was transported by ambulance to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville with what were described as moderate injuries.
Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in the collision, according to the CHP.
Highway 20 was closed in both directions for approximately two hours, and traffic was detoured around the collision scene.
