Rocklin student arrested after sending 'threatening' SnapChat posing with gun, police say

Sacramento Bee file

A Whitney High School student was arrested Tuesday after sending a SnapChat post posing with a gun, magazine and ammunition, the Rocklin Police Department said in a press release.

"The post was created recently and was threatening in tone," according to the release.

The student who sent the SnapChat did not attend school Tuesday, so officers went to the student's home, where they found an unloaded handgun, the release said.

The student was arrested for making threats and booked at Juvenile Hall.

Whitney High School officials alerted parents of the threat and investigation by email. No other details were released.
