El Dorado deputies re-open Forni Road after clearing ‘suspicious package’ in roadway

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has re-opened Forni Road near Ivy Trail north of El Dorado after clearing a “suspicious package in the roadway,” according to a tweet by deputies.
The portion of the road between El Dorado and Placerville was closed for about an hour as deputies from the explosive ordnance used a robot to clear the package, a photo tweeted by the department showed.
More details from the Sheriff’s Office were not immediately available.
