Man injured, neighbors displaced in Arden Arcade apartment fire

A man suffered minor burns Friday morning in an Arden Arcade apartment complex fire that displaced eight residents.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded at 5:42 a.m. to a fire that destroyed an apartment on Bluebird Lane near Howe Avenue, Assistant Chief Maurice Johnson said. The unidentified resident escaped the flames but was taken to a hospital with a burn on his hand, Johnson said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and damage was estimated at $50,000, Johnson said. Smoke from the fire damaged seven other apartments, displacing seven residents, he said.
