Police say report involving gun in midtown Sacramento resolved without incident

Police responded to a report of a person with a gun Saturday evening in midtown Sacramento, but officers say that report was determined to be unfounded.

Police blocked streets and asked people to stay indoors around 16 and P streets, near Fremont Park, after a report was made around 6:30 p.m.

A Sacramento Police Department spokesperson said the initial reports were determined to be unfounded and the situation was resolved as of 6:40 p.m.
