Standoff ends after domestic violence call near Tahoe Park

A woman barricaded herself inside a home in Sacramento after police arrived on a domestic violence call, Sacramento Police Department officials said. Police said the situation was resolved around 8 p.m and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect surrendered to police peacefully after being successfully contacted by police negotiators.

The confrontation was near the intersection of 69th Street and 18th Avenue, near Hiram W. Johnson High School. The situation began around 3 p.m., police said.

69th Street from 14th Avenue to 18th Avenue, including Brady Court, was closed for several hours.
