Man sentenced to 504 years to life in prison after sexually assaulting 8-year-old
A Sacramento man was sentenced to 504 years to life in prison after being found guilty of repeatedly sexually assaulting his friend’s daughter, who was 8 years old at the time.
A Sacramento County Superior Court jury convicted 39-year-old David Rivera, 39, of 10 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 and one count of possessing or controlling child pornography in October, according to a news release from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. Rivera pleaded not guilty to all 11 felony charges.
Investigators found a memory card with photos and videos of Rivera sexually assaulting two girls, one of whom was 8 years old. Rivera later admitted to being in the photos.
Rivera was also found guilty of a 2003 residential strike conviction. He had pleaded guilty or no contest to battery, petty theft, vehicle theft and four counts of burglary since 1997, according to court records.
