Man killed after crashing in orchard off Interstate 5 after truck veers off road

A man was killed in a collision on Interstate 5 after drifting off the road Tuesday afternoon.

Bradford Glenn West, 65, of Arbuckle was driving a Chevrolet truck southbound on Interstate 5 just south of County Road 8 in Orland, according to a news release issued by the Woodland California Highway Patrol. Around 12:30 p.m., West veered abruptly toward the right and drove off the road, according to the release.

He entered an orchard and crashed into a perimeter and two trees, suffering fatal injuries, according to the release.

First responders pronounced West dead at the scene, according to the release.

CHP is still investigating why he abruptly went off the road and asks anyone who witnessed the collision to call 530-662-4685.
