An arrest was made Wednesday after law enforcement discovered a massive illegal marijuana grow operation in Citrus Heights.

Xiao Hang Wang, 38, was arrested after detectives conducted a search of a home in the residential 6500 block of Greencreek Way and discovered the commercial operation, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

Department spokesman Kris Frey described the operation as being “sophisticated,” including heat lamps and fans to care for the plants. The marijuana, Frey said, was intended for sale.

Authorities seized 530 marijuana plants estimated to be worth more than $450,000, according to police.

Wang was booked in the Sacramento County jail and was released Thursday.
