Woman shot, killed in robbery on Florin Road; suspect still at large

A woman who was shot Saturday evening during a robbery of a check-cashing store in south Sacramento has died, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. at the Money Mart on the 4700 block of Florin Road. When deputies arrived on scene, they found a woman shot at the business and began performing life-saving measures. Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Shaun Hampton said the victim was transported by Sacramento Metropolitan Fire medics to the hospital where she died. Her identity has not been released.
