Gunfire on Tuesday night ended with a car crash in south Sacramento County and the death of one man.
Callers told Sacramento County sheriff’s dispatchers about 9 p.m. of gunshots in the area of Franklin Boulevard and 44th Avenue. Detectives later learned that a shooting occurred between two vehicles.
A short time after the report of gunfire, a vehicle thought to have been involved in the shooting hit a power pole at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 46th Avenue. The driver of the vehicle suffered at least one gunshot wound, but it is not known if he died from gunfire or injury from the crash.
The dead man was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Randy Louis Guerrero, 42, of Sacramento.

The other vehicle and the person who shot Guerrero have not been found. The vehicle sought by deputies is described as a gray or silver sedan.
