Nevada pedestrian hit, killed on Madison Avenue
A pedestrian was hit and killed Wednesday night when he stepped into the path of a pickup on Madison Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The driver of a pickup had a green light while traveling on Madison Avenue at Manzanita Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when the 39-year-old pedestrian from Fallon, Nev., stepped into the path of the Chevrolet Silverado.
The pedestrian was struck and propelled 200 feet west of the intersection, according to the CHP. The pickup driver stopped and spoke with arriving CHP officers.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified pending notification of relatives, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
