Update: Natomas shooting victim dies; suspect sought

A man was shot Friday morning in the doorway of an apartment in Natomas, according to police.

Police were called about 8:50 a.m. regarding gunfire at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Capital Park Drive. When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old man who sustained gunshot wounds lying in the front doorway of an apartment. Sacramento Fire Department medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Crime scene investigators and homicide detectives arrived at the scene, but no suspect description has been released. Motive for the killing is not known, according to police.
