Coroner identifies man found dead in Rancho Cordova
The name of the man whose body was found floating in the water near a pump station in the Rancho Cordova area has been released by the county coroner.
He has been identified as 36-year-old Jonathan Reyes. No place of residence for Reyes was listed on the coroner’s website.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Bowman said a call was received about 12:15 p.m. Thursday from a passer-by who spotted what appeared to be a body in a pond across from the state Bureau of Automotive Repair at North Mather Boulevard and Spoto Drive. The coroner’s office gives the death scene location as a canal east of Bear Hollow Drainage Pump Station.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office responded to the scene and does not consider the death suspicious, Bowman said.
