A woman arrested on suspicion of setting a grass fire in south Sacramento on Monday morning is also suspected of starting other small blazes in the same general area, according the Sacramento Fire Department.
The woman, who has not been identified, was taken into custody by a California Highway Patrol officer Monday after a witness pointed her out as the person who started a 1-acre fire at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard onramp to southbound Highway 99.
The wind-driven fire was extinguished by fire crews, and the woman was taken into custody.
A Fire Department spokesman said the woman matches the description of a person who had set small grass fires in the same area since Thursday.
