A Placer County Sheriff’s Office K-9 named Drago helped deputies catch a man with multiple active warrants in Sheridan last week.

Deputies had been searching for 32-year-old Wesley Bower for more than a week, according to a news release from the department, when they found him walking down Riosa Road.

Bower ran from deputies when he saw them approaching, the release said. A deputy was called to the scene with department K-9 Drago, who ran through barbed wire fences, cattle fences and creeks to catch Bower.

Drago eventually stopped Bower, who had multiple active warrants for stealing a vehicle and for being in possession of a controlled substance.

Bower was brought to the South Placer County Jail on suspicion of cultivating marijuana, false identification and obstruction of a peace officer. Jail records indicate Bower’s bail is set at $35,000.
