Two suspects were caught on camera last week using a brick to break into a gas station in Colfax, where they are accused of stealing cash and cigarettes, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The suspects are men believed to be in their 20s who were reportedly seen breaking the glass front door of a Shell gas station in Colfax about 4 a.m. last Thursday, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

The associated suspect vehicle is a recent model, gray Chevrolet Malibu. The suspects used a blue tarp to haul the stolen cartons of cigarettes to the car, according to the post.

In photos, both men appear to be wearing black hooded sweatshirts, and one man appears to have green camouflage pants. One of the men has a thin mustache, sheriff’s deputies say.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects or suspect vehicle is urged to contact the sheriff’s detective handling the case at 530-889-6958.
