Here are Sacramento Crime Stoppers most wanted fugitives for the week of March. 26, 2019
Two teenage boys were arrested Sunday night in connection with multiple carjacking crimes in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
The boys were taken into custody after officers investigated reports of a carjacking in south Sacramento on Sunday night, according to a department news release.
On Sunday at 10 p.m., officers responded to reports of a carjacking in a business parking lot on the 1300 block of Florin Road. When they arrived, they found a male victim who said the suspects assaulted him and stole his car.
Officers were canvassing near Corporate Loop and Park City Court in Meadowview an hour later when they came across the suspects driving a vehicle that matched the description of the one stolen in south Sacramento, department spokesman Marcus Basquez said.
When officers attempted to stop the two boys, they fled on foot before being apprehended, Basquez said.
After the arrests, the department began to investigate recent carjackings in the area, Basquez said. Officers believe the duo was responsible for an incident Thursday that left an elderly woman with significant injuries, the release said.
On Thursday morning, officers responded to reports of a carjacking at a bank on the 1300 block of Florin Road, the release said. Police said they found an elderly female victim who said she jumped into the back seat of her vehicle to fight off the suspects.
During the altercation, the woman was struck with a suspect’s fists and a blunt object. The suspect who punched the victim also threatened to shoot her, the release said. As he left the scene, the suspect’s vehicle hit multiple parked vehicles and a garage.
The victim sustained “significant” injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, the release said.
Basquez said an investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information should call the department at 916-808-5471.
