Rocklin school booster organization member arrested on suspicion of embezzling more than $10,000
A member of a Rocklin middle school’s booster nonprofit was arrested Thursday after allegedly embezzling more than $10,000 from the organization’s account.
Crystal Disho was taken into custody by the Rocklin Police Department after funds were discovered missing from a Granite Oaks Middle School organization, department spokesman Sgt. Jonas Wilks.
In a statement sent to parents, Granite Oaks Principal Jay Holmes said some financial discrepancies were spotted last week in the school’s Parent Falcon Club and law enforcement was notified.
Wilks said Disho is believed to have acquired a booster debit card without knowledge or approval from the organization, which she is alleged to have used for more than $10,000 worth of personal expenses.
“Moving forward, our Parent Falcon Club has placed new systems in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again,” Holmes said in the statement.
Disho was booked into the Placer County jail, Wilks said.
