73-year-old pedestrian killed in East Sacramento motorized bicycle crash identified

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified Thursday the 73-year-old pedestrian in Tuesday’s fatal motorized bicycle accident in East Sacramento.

Romulo Mariano Hocson of Sacramento was killed on H Street near the corner of San Miguel Way just after 4:45 p.m. after he was struck by a 54-year-old man riding a motorized bicycle, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Hocson was crossing H Street when he was hit and was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries, police said.

The bicyclist was also injured and taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said.
