Bones discovered in downtown Sacramento at construction site
Bones were discovered in downtown Sacramento Tuesday afternoon by a construction crew pulling up concrete on the corner of J and 12th streets.
Sacramento Police Department spokeswoman Officer Linda Matthew said officers received a call from the crew reporting the bones just before 1 p.m.
Both police and Sacramento County Coroner officials were responding to investigate, Matthew said.
Authorities are attempting to determine whether the bones are animal or human, she said.
The crew was working on the sidewalk in front of a FedEx Office building near the intersection.
