Roseville police arrest suspect with 8 warrants in 4 counties after theft
Two men were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property after an alleged retail theft Tuesday morning, and one of them had warrants in four different counties, Roseville police said.
Police responded to reports of suspicious activity about 5:40 a.m. Tuesday at a store in the 900 block of Pleasant Grove Boulevard after the store reported a male inside appeared to be “casing” items while a vehicle circled the outside of the store, the Roseville Police Department said in a news release.
Following a traffic stop on the vehicle, which had expired tags, officers witnessed an occupant throwing a bag of white powder out of a window.
The vehicle stopped, the release said, and after a search turned up more than $2,000 in stolen property and items connected to drug sales, police arrested Nathan Gallagher.
Gallagher, 25, had eight warrants for his arrest in four different counties, according to Roseville police. He was arrested for organized retail theft, drug sales and his outstanding warrants.
The suspect inside the store later fled with stolen property, the release said. Roseville police took David Tietjen, 35, into custody for theft and resisting arrest.
Placer County jail inmate information for Gallagher’s booking Tuesday show he has outstanding warrants in Yuba County for petty theft and Amador County, but does not specify the other two counties.
