The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sacramento man during a marijuana grow operation bust in Angels Camp on Thursday.

The department said its Marijuana Enforcement Team found 1,227 marijuana plants, 64 pounds of processed marijuana and one shotgun after serving a warrant for a marijuana grow operation located at a residence in the 5000 block of Spur Road in Angels Camp, according to a news release.

Feng Gao, 37, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation, maintaining a drug house, possession of marijuana for sale and criminal conspiracy.

The home was later determined to have hazardous electrical conditions by the Calaveras County Code Compliance Department.
