One suspect still at large after Saturday night manhunt in Auburn

One person is still on the loose in Auburn after a robbery and subsequent manhunt for three suspects on Saturday afternoon, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a robbery at the 400 block of the Grass Valley Highway at around 2:30 p.m., according to a news release from the department. Witnesses told officers that the three people suspected of robbing the business had fled the area in a vehicle.

While checking the area around the scene of the incident, officers discovered a vehicle that matched the description of the car the suspects used to flee the scene, the release said. A 24-year-old Roseville resident, Kody Scoveol, was arrested at the car, but the two other suspects fled on foot.

A perimeter was established around the scene of the incident, and a second suspect, a 17-year-old from Sacramento, was arrested near Hidden Creek Drive.

Officers said Placer County Sheriff’s deputies, a Rocklin K9 and a CHP aircraft were involved in the search for the third suspect, who was of an unconfirmed gender and wearing a “dark hoodie, baggy lightweight sweat pants and an orange piece of clothing near the back waistline.”

Anyone with information about this incident is being urged to call the Placer County Police Department at 530-823-4234.
