Sacramento County Probation Department officials made two arrests Tuesday while out serving probation search warrants, leading to the seizure of several pounds of drugs, firearms and cash.
Jorge Nunez, 31, was taken into custody in the 7000 block of Bowling Drive in south Sacramento after probation officers conducted a search and found 10 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, according to a news release issued by the probation department.
Nunez was on post-release community supervision and was booked into the Sacramento County jail on suspicion of drug possession and violating his release conditions, according to the release. He was being held without bail.
Mario Esparza, 25, was arrested in the 1400 block of Kitchner Road in Freeport Manor, where officers found drugs, paraphernalia, cash and a handgun, according to the release.
The seizure yielded 2 pounds of methamphetamine, 1 pound of heroin, a quarter-pound of cocaine, more than $7,000 and a .45-caliber pistol, according to the release.
Esparza was booked into the Sacramento County jail on suspicion of selling and possessing drugs and felony firearm possession, according to the release.
Esparza has a record of drugs and weapons offenses, according to the release.
He was being held in the jail without bail and is due in court Monday.
