A man was arrested Tuesday after his 70-year-old mother was found dead in her Stockton home under suspicious circumstances, authorities said.

Michael Trejo, 44, was arrested on suspicion of felony elder neglect and violating a restraining order after his mother was found, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Responding officers arrived on the 6100 block of Alturas Avenue on reports that she had been found dead inside the house, according to police.

The cause of the woman’s death has yet to be determined, pending the results of an autopsy, according to police.

Police did not release her name.

Trejo had a warrant for his arrest and was booked into the San Joaquin County jail, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are asking anyone with information to call 209-937-8377.
