Roseville man arrested, suspected of attempted murder after burning woman, police say

A Roseville man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly burning a woman intentionally Saturday night, authorities said.

The victim remains in critical condition at the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the Roseville Police Department said in a news release.

Officers responded just before 11 p.m. Saturday to the scene in the 1800 block of South Cirby Way, where they found an adult woman who had been burned and severely injured, according to the news release.

The suspect fled, but was identified as 48-year-old Richard Frederiksen of Roseville, according to the release.

Frederiksen remains in custody at South Placer jail, held on charges including attempted murder and inflicting corporal injury. He is ineligible for bail.

The victim has not been identified.
