Sacramento police searching for indecent exposure suspect near Fruitridge middle school
Sacramento police are searching for an indecent exposure suspect who stopped three girls on their walk to school in Fruitridge Manor on Monday morning, officials said.
Three 12-year-old girls were stopped in separate incidents by the suspect on their way to Will C. Wood Middle School, according to the Sacramento Police Department. All three incidents occurred near the area of Ortega Street and 40th Avenue, just north of the school, and were reported by the girls when they arrived at school, officials said.
In each incident, the suspect tried to stop and talk to the girls, according to police. In the first incident, the suspect stayed in his vehicle and attempted to show the victim pornography on a cellphone.
During the second incident, the victim saw the man fondling himself inside his vehicle. During the third incident, the suspect exited the vehicle but did not approach the victim, police said.
After each incident, the girl was able to flee and get to the school, police said. None of the girls were injured.
There will be extra police presence in the area Tuesday to allow parents and their children to feel safe walking to school, officials said.
Police believe this to be an isolated incident. The incident is still under investigation.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20s, thin with dark spiky hair, and wearing a black shirt and black/red shorts. The suspect vehicle is described as a black Honda Civic.
