19-year-old Sacramento woman arrested in connection with Lodi double homicide, police say

A 19-year-old Sacramento woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with a September double homicide in Lodi, police said.

Santana Rodriguez was taken into custody Tuesday and booked into the Lodi City Jail, arrested on suspicion of murder for her alleged involvement in a Sept. 9 shooting that left two men dead, the Lodi Police Department said in a news release.

The shooting was reported about 2 a.m. Sept. 9 in the area of Cherokee Lane and Lodi Avenue, with Lodi police later saying it appeared to have been a parking lot altercation that turned to gunfire, according to the news release.

Another suspect in the shooting, 24-year-old Jaime Mora of Stockton, turned himself in to police on Sept. 14, according to the news release. Mora remains in custody at the San Joaquin County jail.

The victims were identified as 35-year-old Gerardo Maldonado De Santiago of Lodi, who died at the scene, and 21-year-old Brian Soto of Stockton, who died at a local hospital, according to the news release.

Suspects were identified after investigators interviewed witnesses and reviewed video surveillance, according to the news release.

Lodi police say the investigation remains ongoing, with potential witnesses still being sought. Lodi police anyone with information on the shooting to contact the Lodi Police Department at 209-333-6727.
